Irreverence

In addition to offending a pro-Iraq war supporter by mentioning the onion (I kid you not), I recently had this conversation. 

X: All these catered Georgetown functions are weird.

Scoplaw:  How so?

X: I always associate them with non-vegetarian food - meat on a stick and all that.

Scoplaw:  "Meat on a stick" - I think it reflects the basic Catholic ethos of the school.

X: How so?

Scoplaw:  The crucifixion and all that.

X: Oh my god.

Scoplaw:  Yeah.

X: No, I mean can you get away with saying that because you're Catholic?

Scoplaw:  Not really.  Ratzinger's coming for me.
