Weekday Crush

Blawging has been pretty scarce, what with the job search and school.  There have been a few social activities as well -  a happy hour with some of my fav 3peeps (including Cookie&Novel, Mixed Socks, and The Demanding One) and a George Washington Law mixer.  The GW mixer proved to be a lot of fun – certainly more relaxed than the GT mixers I’ve been to (although not as relaxed as sec 3 happy hours).  I met some pretty interesting people at the GW mixer thing, including someone who left med school right before residency and opted for law school.  There was also an ex-Army sniper whom I’ve met before.  Is it odd that I get along with only a few active guys (navy, air force), but a great many more former military types?

I also, for the second time, saw an interesting girl with some odd facial piercings and a throat tattoo who hit me up for a light.  We had an odd, muted, but intense conversation.  Sometimes you don’t need to exchange numbers – if you need to see this other person again, it will happen.

Today is going to be a busy errand study day.  I’d like to hide in my fishbowl world of classes and readings, but I have all kinds of LS external shit to take care of: poetry, shopping, errands, school-admin stuff.   The Demanding One is having a pot-luck – I need to be food-crafty and plan (instead of jazz cooking).
